Brunello di Montalcino DOCG


This exceptional Brunello is made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso, hand harvested in October, soft pressed, and vinified in stainless steel tanks for 15-20 days at a controlled temperature of 25-28°, then refined in stainless steel tanks from March to May. The wine is aged for a minimum of 5 years with at least three & a half years in oak and chestnut casks and a further 6 months in the bottle. This is a powerful wine with dark fruit flavors reminiscent of black currants and blackberries, firm and uplifting tannins, and a long sweet fruit finish on the palate. Excellent when served with game meats, steaks, sausages and dishes such as pasta with meat sauces, rosemary-pepper beef rib roast, dishes with mushrooms and truffles and aged cheeses. Decanting for two hours before serving is recommended in order to appreciate all the nuances and flavors this beautiful wine has to offer.  This is a long aging wine that can be cellared for 10-12 years or more.
