Corona Majore - Cannonau di Sardegna

Corona Majore is named after the location of the vineyards located 1300 ft. above sea level on the eastern side of the Corona Majore, S’Erenarzu and Su Frigadore mountains

            The grapes are hand picked in October and placed in small crates in order to retain the juices and flavors of the fruit, then destemmed and cold macerated on the skins for 3 weeks with daily délestage* (*see tech sheets for explanation).  The wine is then refined in stainless steel tanks for 2 years, with frequent battonage (the process of stirring up the lees), then 6 months rest in the bottle before release. Corona Majore is an exquisite, deep ruby red colored wine with an intense bouquet of red & black berries.  It’s dry, warm and intense with an elegance that pairs well with pastas with legumes or with red sauces such as amatriciana, braised ribs, classic pork dishes, stuffed Cornish hens and aged cheeses. Serve at room temperature.
