Organic Montepulciano


These vineyards are situated on hills 200-300 meters above sea level and cover an area of about 11 hectares, centered indirectly around vines that are 10 years old.  The harvest takes place in the first 10 days of October.  The enological process, like the vineyards and grapes, are totally checked by the Ente Certificante (Organic Board) prohibiting any use of synthetic chemical elements.  The fermentation is done on the skins for 10-15 days in stainless steel containers after which the wine matures in stainless for 6-7 months.  Three/four months after bottling the wine is released into the marketplace.  This lovely Montepulciano has a beautiful violet color with an intense character, well balanced tannins and aromas of cherries and maraschino.  The taste is full and round, with a long finish.  This wine is a great partner with salami, antipasti, pasta with meat sauces, roasts and seasoned cheeses.  Serve at room temperature.
