Blanc de Sers

Blanc de Sers is part of the project to recover vines of old native varietals of grapes and make them into wine.  It’s made from Wanderbara, Venaza, Veltliner Rosato and Nosiola grapes grown in vineyards that are in a perfect location for white grapes. The area is sheltered from the north winds so the Blanc de Sers grapes are on a slop that’s well ventilated and exposed to all day southern sunlight.  After the harvest the grapes are separated and cold fermented then soft pressed and the musts are vinified separately, 35% in barrique and the rest in stainless.    The varietals are then mixed together, bottled and left to rest before release.  This is a lovely straw colored wine that has a fresh taste with light hints of ripe citrus fruits and sage and pairs well with hors d’oeuvres, all types of fish, soups and mushrooms.
